A woman in Manyatta, Kisumu County is crying for justice after her 15-year-old son was assaulted and seriously injured by a neighbour last week.

Julliet Oketch says that her neighbour attacked her son Ronny Otieno with a thorny stick for allegedly trespassing on his compound.

She says that her son suffered serious injuries since some thorns broke in his flesh causing him swells in the neck and the left arm.

“Doctors have recommended that my son goes for surgery to have the five thorns deeply entrenched in his skin removed. I’m just a widow, depending on hand to mouth jobs. I do not have money for surgery,” narrates Oketch.

Otieno on his part says that he tried to plead with the man to not punish him from trespassing to no avail.

“He met me close to their compound and from there he started by pushing back claiming he had warned me not to ever pass through their home. I pleaded with him to let me go but it all ended in deaf ears,” narrates Otieno.

“From there he picked the thorny stick and started canning me with it for four times , I never fought back,” he explained.

He says that they reported the case to the chief who advised that the go to the hospital first.

A Medical report at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital indicates that he had serious injuries with five broken thons on his neck and left arm.

Mrs. Oketch says that she is not t in a position to raise money for the P3 form to have the neighbour arrested.
