Boy living under a stall for one year rescued

An NGO in Kisumu County has rescued a 15 year old boy who has reportedly been living under a stall in Obunga after he was kicked out by his brother.

The Grade Seven pupil has allegedly been living under the stall for about one year before he was rescued by a good Samaritan.

Save Girl Child Network Ambassador Peter Oyoo says that a good Samaritan who has reportedly been helping the boy alerted them of his situation.

“Today I have rescued  a boy by the name Gordon Onyango. The boy has been staying with his elder brother  for almost one year but unfortunately the chased him away for unclear reasons,” said Oyoo.

“A good Samaritan who has been assisting him could not do so anymore due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, so she alerted us about the boy,” said Oyoo.

Oyoo says that upon interrogation, he found out that the boy comes from Pala in Homabay County.

His case was reported to the Kondele Police Station before being handed over to his other elder brother who lives in Nyamasaria.

“When I got the information from the Good Samaritan who reported the matter to Kondele Police station, I followed up the case and found out that he is from Pala Homabay County and since he also has another brother who stays at Nyamasaria , we decided to hand over to him,” he added.  Oyoo on the other hand has requested parents to take care of their children and try and provide for
