Camilla And Shawn Mendez Break Up

Pop stars Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendez have called it quits after dating for more than two years.

The two announced their separation on Wednesday through their Instagram handles in a joint statement.

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward,” read the statement.

The two had previously been friends before starting their steamy relationship in July 2019. Before dating officially, the couple had made a hit song together ‘Senorita’ currently at 1.3B views on YouTube.

The singers went ahead to win the MTV Video Music award for best collaboration, American Music Award for collaboration of the year and MTV video music award for best Cinematography all in the year 2019. Despite making music together, the two got to quarantine together during the Pandemic where they strengthened their bond.

The news of their break up comes as a shock as they seemed happy and in love during this year’s Halloween few weeks ago, wearing matching costumes. The two however, seem to have separated amicably and intend to stay friends.

Camilla Cabello rose to fame as part of the girl group Fifth Harmony but later on established herself as a solo artist. The 24 year old is best known for her single Havana that topped charts upon its release and has since gained 999 M views on YouTube.

Shawn Mendez launched his career as a vine artist singing covers and went ahead to become a singer song writer himself. He is best known for his hit songs Stitches, Treat you better among others. Shawn was named among the 100 most influential people in the world by times magazine in 2018.

The two made a power couple and had fans all over the world rooting for them, some speculating an engagement after the Cinderella actress was spotted wearing a ring. Unlike in Cinderella thou, not all love stories end in happy ever after.
