Candidates planning to use masks as Mwakenya

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has fired a warning at candidates planning to cheat in the forthcoming examinations.

Speaking in Mombasa, Magoha said that the ministry has information that some candidates are planning to write exam materials on the masks before going to the exams room.

“Masks are supposed to protect you from COVID-19 and it should not be a place to write notes to be used to cheat in exams, and I have instructed all exams center managers and invigilators to ensure that candidates remove masks for checking before wearing them again,” said Magoha.

He further added that any candidate that will be found with written materials on masks will only be allowed to sit for the examinations in Isolation centers.

“Let me also warn our staff, teachers and some parents trying to confuse candidates that they can purchase examination papers, and the hot spot remains in Migori and some parts of Kisii don’t even attempt because we will deal with you ruthlessly,” said Magoha.
