Real Madrid’s center back Sergio Ramos has a tendency of scoring late and decisive goals. The veteran defender did it yet again alongside Alvaro Morata on score shit as Madrid came from a goal down to grab a convincing 3:1 win against Italian bigwigs Napoli.
Ramos rose high to flick a Tony Kroos corner kick past Napoli’s keeper Pepe Reina on the 51st minute mark .The effort proved that the Spanish defender was still lively before goal as he netted his ninth goal of the season.
Six minutes later after finding his first goal of the match, Ramos then scored his tenth goal and the first double figure goal account. However, the goal was later given to Dries Mertens as an own goal.
The score-line meant Napoli needed to score four more goals to keep up the pace for the quarter finals. Ramos has created several moments of magic in critical matches. He has broken the hearts of Real’s city rivals Atletico Madrid in two consecutive Champions League finals.
First he netted a 93rd-minute equalizer in Lisbon in 2014. It was an effective dagger to the heart of an Atletico Madrid side who were already celebrating on the inside.
Elsewhere,Ramos scored twice in four minutes to kill Bayern Muinich in the 2013-14 semifinals and more interestingly he equalized for Madrid in the last El-Classico in December.
The defender yet again came to a spot light by playing a huge role in driving Real Madrid to the quarter final stages. He did it in a match he shined against Italian side Napoli. The defender is firmly among few defenders in the world of football to appear on score shits with very decisive goals.
Meanwhile, Napoli’s performance on the other hand confirmed that they are yet to discover this class. Quick and powerful out of the blocks, just like they had been at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Napoli once again fell short in their bid to muscle in among Europe’s leading clubs.
