Chaos erupted at UDA Headquarters in Ngong road this morning, following the revocation of Secretary General of the party Cleophas Malala after he was replaced by Hassan Omar on an interim basis.

Why Malala Was Revoked!
Cleophas Malala was today removed from office by the UDA party from serving as a secretary general.
This follows criticism by some of members of the UDA, accusing Malala for losing focus and disrespecting President William Ruto in his deal with ODM’s Raila Odinga regarding the national negotiations.
“Upon wide and consultative deliberations , and in compliance and in accordance with its mandate under Article 8.2 of the Party Constitution, the National Executive Committee has determined to designate the Vice -Chairperson , Hon. Hassan Omar Hassan to act as the Secretary General on an Interim basis,” The statement said.
Hassan Omar Takes Over As The Secretary General
In a statement issued to the press on Friday morning, the United Democratic Alliance designated the Vice Chair of the party Hassan Omar, Malala’s position.
Omar now takes over as the new Secretary General on Interim basis with immediate effect.

“The appointment of Hon Cleophas Malala as the Interim Secretary General is hereby revoked,” The Party added.
Malala is also accused of poor performance in office after failing to organize UDA elections in important areas.
The vocal leader was appointed as the Secretary General for UDA in February 2023, replacing Veronica Maina who was nominated to the Senate.
