Chief fires all village elders, appoints new ones
A chief in Njiru has stripped off all village elders their titles for allegedly facilitating the selling of illicit brew in the area.
Chief Stella Njoroge has consequently appointed new village elders to replace the fired ones.
According to Njoroge, the sale of illicit brews was being conducted in rental houses with the aid of the fired village eleders.
Area residents have also complained about the illicit brews saying that their children are being exposed to the illicit brews by the traders.
The residents living in the rental areas area say that their children are being exposed to alcohol drinking culture which is eroding societal morals.
Njoroge accompanied with other officers pured out thousands of litres of illicit brew they recovered in today’s operation.
