A four year old boy on Monday April 17, fell while playing on the balcony of their house in Huruma.

Oscar Nabikhwa was playing with other children before he fell and hit his head.

He was rushed to the hospital by his mother and neighbours but was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police say that Nabikhwa’s mother was in the house at the time of the accident.

“I rushed downstairs where I found him bleeding from the head after the fall. My neighbours helped me take him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead,” reads part of the report.

Police declare it an accident

The police officers who visited the scene declared it an accident but have stated that they will still conduct their investigations.

Nairobi Police boss Adamson Bungei has urged parents to be careful and keep an eye on their children during this holiday when children will be at home

Bungei has also urged developers to put safety measures on structures to ensure the safety of the vulnerable people especially children.

A postmortem of the body is planned to be conducted as police continue with their investigations.

Huruma area is known for having many substandard buildings.

Some of the buildings declared unfit for occupation in the past had been constructed without approval of the Nairobi County Government.
