Media personality Ciku Muiruri’s daughter and her friend who were abducted last week have been rescued.
The two Erica Gachoka aged 26 and her friend Shanise Agose aged 27 were rescued on Sunday by sleuths from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau working in conjunction with the Operations branch.
Two suspects Timothy Kiragu aged 34 and Samuel Kipkurui aged 33 were arrested.
Kiragu and Kipkurui had demanded a ransom of Ksh. 250,000 from both Erica and Shanise in order to release them.

Abductors demanded ransom
The abductors demanded for a ransom of Sh250,000 from each of the two, in order to release them.
Police say that Erica and her friend Shanice had attended a house party in Nairobi’s Westlands area when the abduction happened.
“After the party, the two requested a ride to Kilimani, via the bolt taxi application. But when the ride arrived along Rhapta road in Westlands and they got in, the driver threatened them using a hammer before speeding off towards Thika,” said the DCI.
Investigations into the abduction were immediately launched as the detectives trailed the suspects who operated between Nairobi, Thika, Ruiru and Witeithie in Kiambu County.
