Classrooms to hold only 15 to 20 learners once schools reopen
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has said each classroom will only have between 15 to 20 learners when schools reopen in September.
Speaking in Kitui county on Wednesday, the CS further directed that teachers report to schools two weeks before the reopening.
The CS said the government will ensure they procure 24 million masks in September so that each learner will be issued with at least two of them. Schools will also have thermo guns for temperature checks.
“Every school will also have thermo guns for temperature checks,” he said.
The minimum requirements upon reopening have been outlined as clean running water and soap for handwashing or hand sanitizer.
The institutions will also be required to sanitize often-touched objects such as doorknobs, light switches, and stair railings with disinfectant.
