Clinical Officers Raise Concerns Over Coronavirus Vaccine Rollout
Kenya Clinical Workers Union has taken issue with manner in which the government is administering Covid-19 vaccines to healthcare givers saying no proper sensitization that has been done.
In an interview with Ghetto Radio News KUCO Secretary General says that they are given a consent form to fill in before being vaccinated so that nobody takes liability should anything bad happens.
“Nobody is being forced to take the vaccine but they have made it Mandatory for anyone taking part to first sign the consent form …this means that even the government itself is not sure with this vaccine,” Gibore said.
They further accused Ministry of Health for failing to involve them in the whole process vaccine administration despite good intention to protect the healthcare workers.
“The ministry failed to brief us on this matter we are also perturbed by Presidents’ sentiments that he will only take the vaccine should he be advised so by his doctor,” he added.
The vaccine is already in top government hospitals in the 47 counties.
In the first phase healthcare workers, police officers, teachers will be vaccinated.
