Clinical officers threaten to go on strike again
Clinical Officers have threatened to go on strike again following a disagreement with the Council Of Governors over the January 1st 2021 return to work formula they signed with the National government.
The officers led by their Secretary General George Gibore say that they will go on strike in three days time if the governors don’t sign the return to work formula.
“The Council of Governors is playing politics with this issue. Where it suits them, they say you address the COG, if it doesn’t suit them they want us to address individual counties. If they are not going to give us a way forward in the next three days we will down our tools,” said Gibore.
The Clinicians called off their more than three weeks strike after signing the deal with the national government.
Governors have however described the demands of the clinicians as unrealistic and cannot be met by the governors owing to the harsh economic times occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
