Coast Stima pulled the upset of the day when they beat Kenya Police 2-1 in their National Super League round 29 fixture on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Ruaraka Grounds.
Kenya Police almost nicked the lead in the 1st minute after they were awarded a corner kick which David Okeke tried to head in but the ball went wide.
Coast Stima took the lead after Kenya Police Goalkeeper Reuben Otieno cleared the ball back into play creating a chance for Lucky Kaingu to open the scores in the 18th minute. This sealed the half-time scores at 1-0.
After the breather, Clinton Ochieng almost bagged the second goal for Coast Stima after he received a backheel pass into the area but before he made the shot, the Kenya Police defense intercepted the attack, maintaining the scores at 1-0.
In the 72nd minute, Keith Imbali sent the ball to the back of the net giving Coast Stima their second goal. Arvine Odoyo managed to pull one back for Kenya Police in the 86th minute.
During the four minutes of added time, Kenya Police were awarded a penalty that would have equalized the scores had it not been for Coast Stima’s Goalkeeper Said Dhadho’s save, which closed the full-time scores at 2-1.
