A section of Kisumu traders and residents now want Kisumu county government to complete all on-going business projects in Kisumu ahead of 9th edition of Africities summit that was postponed from April 2022.
The traders expressed their joy on the postponement of the Summit to give room for further preparation and completion of their business centres as they lack places to do their businesses .
‘‘We are happy with the postponement so that they can have time to finish these projects…we appreciate work being done by the county government so far but it could have been shameful to have visitors here with demolished structures,” they Said.
The event was set to take place in Mamboleo Estate showground.
It is set to provide a platform to grow not only Kisumu County but also the entire Lake Region Economic Block and Kenya at large.
Nyongo made the cancellation last month when launching the Otonglo market.
