In a way or another, Kenyans had already given up on former boxing champion Conjestina Achieng’s mental incapacitation. Her mental illness was accompanied with hopelessness that even sent her father to his early grave. The family had tried all they could to save her but nothing seemed to materialise.
At some point, Conjestina almost killed her younger brother over a scanty misunderstanding.
The constant outcry by bloggers and the public to save Conje was always ignored leading to a noticeable neglection of the boxing queen.
The fear of the worse prevailed and was even stirred up when rumors broke that Conjestina had passed on.Poor soul even fell victim of online deaths.
But the best news came a few days ago after it reached our desks through Charity activist, one Ngugi Nyoro who shared a post from Winnie Ogola;
“And about CONJESTINA, Winnie Augo Ogola says: I can testify that God is good and nothing is too big in his eyes…… Congestina is perfectly ok…no longer drinks or smokes weed, stays home ,helps in house hold chores …today she never said the pilot things or going to new jersey….. She has even started doing training with a few youths and says she will start a small team and teach youths on drug abuse….. She used the medicine to the last one…. The pics can tell u more.”
And as i was looking through the shared photos, i noticed Conjestina had gained weight and looked more happy than previously before Winnie took charge.
Winnie, a hairpreneur in Kisumu,took it as her responsibility to bring Conjestina back to het feet. As we talk, Winnie reports that she is drug-free. No marijuana or drinking. Her physical health seems maintained and mental health recovered.
