A section of Nairobi County contractors have threatened to go to court if the county government will not pay them their dues.
The contractors claim that the Nairobi County Government owes them money for jobs done since 2019.
“We do not want to go the court way but we are giving the county more time to at least sort us out because we are hurting,” said the contractors.
Speaking at a media briefing the contractors claim that some contractors who were given work way after them have already been paid while they have been left out.
“We know there are people who were given jobs after us and they have already been paid. Our question is, what criteria are they using to pay contractors?,” they posed.
Some are allegedly dodging auctioneers sent by banks that had given them loans to issue the services.
“These auctioneers are on our necks. The county needs to pay us,” they stated.
