A man and his wife died last night when they fell into an open pit latrine in Kangemi, Nairobi.
A witness said one had been chasing after the other after a quarrel when they both fell into the pit.
Witnesses gathered in the morning amid efforts by the Nairobi city county fire brigade team to retrieve the bodies.

The bodies were however retrieved later on Sunday and taken to the mortuary.
Police said they were looking for the owner of the compound for questioning because he had left the pit uncovered.
