The court has declined the bail application by Nancy Kigunzu alias Mathee Wa Ngara in a case in which she has been charged with trafficking drugs worth Sh18.3 million.

In the Magistrate Njeri Thuku said Nancy Kigunzu and her co-accused Eugene Jumba are a flight risk given their involvement in drug trafficking.

“Prosecution has placed strong compelling reasons. It is not in the interest of justice to grant bond,” the court said.

The court however freed her other two other co-accused persons were however allowed to be out on bail.

Teresia Wanjiru together with her co-accused persons was granted a bail of Sh50,000 and also directed to provide two contact persons that must be blood relatives.

The court placed minor under care at Kabete Children’s Care since no adult had come to claim the child.

The accused persons were on Monday charged with trafficking bhang with a market value of Sh 13.4 million.
