Court has extended orders barring Railways Retirement Benefit Scheme from evicting their tenants in Makongeni.
In his orders Hon Peter Muholi has slated the case for hearing on 30th June this month.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio lawyer representing Makongeni MCA and residents Kokebe says the orders are intact and that the residents are free to use the houses until the court decides otherwise.
“The orders bar any entry by either scheme or any party pending hearing and the matter will be coming up on 30th June,” Kokebe said.
Meanwhile the residents have accused the scheme of not heeding to talks that were initiated by their leaders to resolve the matter through dialogue.
“Our MP and MCA initiated talks with them but they refused. Instead they resorted to use excessive force to demand arrears,” they said.
