The number of Coronavirus patients in the country has risen to 303 after seven patients tested positive for the disease.
During the daily briefing at Afya house, health CS, Mutahi Kagwe reported that all the seven new patients are Kenyan.
The new cases are from a cluster of 707 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The Health CS also addressed the issue of Kenyans who escaped from the quarantine facilities in Mandera and KMTC.
“Mandera was the first place that reported the issue of Kenyans escaping quarantine. I would like to call on Kenyans not live normally with those who have gone back home from quarantine facilities having escaped. In fact, if you know there is an individual that escaped quarantine, report them to the authorities. I would also like to urge the said individuals to surrender themselves to the authorities.” CS Kagwe said
Kagwe also said that a total of 25000 testing kits have been deployed for the mass testing that is currently underway. He said Kenya aims to conduct 250,000 tests by the end of June.
