COVID Millionaires whistle blower arrested over bribery claims


COVID Millionaires whistle blower Godwins Agutu has been arrested together with two other suspects for soliciting for Ksh. 2 Million.

Agutu, Alex Mutua Mutuku and Ken Gichovi Kimathi reportedly abducted the Director of Hi-tech Enterprise while claiming to be a multi-agency team from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and KRA.

DCI Director George Kinoti says that the three persons showed up at the Hi-tech Enterprise Director’s Office two times on September 26 and Septmber 29 then demanded a Ksh. 2M bribe.

“When the victim could not raise the amount, they forced him into the GKB vehicle and drove off to Lutheran Hse along Nyerere road,” Kinoti said.

They reportedly claimed if given the money, they could kill an alleged tax evasion case involving a victim who is already in police custody.

Godwins Agutu who is the Network Action Against Corruption Director featured in an expose aired by NTV alleging widespread misuse of Covid-19 funds and material donations from Jack Ma Foundation.

According to Kinoti they are pursuing three other KRA officers who were working with Agutu and the team.

The KRA officers are namely, Harrison Ochar ,Houdouvia Njoroge and Brian Kimemia.
