The Jubilee Alliance party has formally transformed into the Jubilee party at the National delegates conference at the Bomas of Kenya here in Nairobi.
Party delegates have also endorsed the changes of the name, the party symbol,slogan and colour.
Deputy President William Ruto’s party URP has also been dissolved in order to pave the way for the new Jubilee Party.
The parties’ delegates converged at Kasarani Indoor Arena on Thursday and passed a resolution folding up their outfit in order to become members of the new one.
A resolution to merge URP with other 12 parties was moved by Baringo North MP William Cheptumo and seconded by Teso South MP Mary Emasse.
National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale said…
“URP delegates…we have not reached yet….we are still on the move….we will only rest when Deputy President William Ruto gets the Presidency…..”
At Bomas, delegates drawn from different parts of the country arrived at the cultural village as early as 5am.
Security was beefed up at the venue, with police officers from the Kenya Police and Administration police having been deployed.
