The Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy, in partnership with Greydale Africa held the inaugural Digital Transformation Public Sector Forum and Awards (DTPS) in recognition of innovation and achievements in government digitization.

The two-day forum brought together state agency leaders from different sectors to share knowledge, explore best practices, and recognize groundbreaking initiatives driving digital transformation across various government departments.

The chief guest, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of ICT and the Digital Economy Eliud Owalo said, “The digital generation is at crossroads because the decisions we make today will impact future generations. The digital revolution has not only changed the way we live, work, and interact but has also ignited a powerful transformation within the public sector. As we embrace the concept of digital government, we acknowledge that our responsibility goes beyond governance and extends to fostering innovation, enhancing service delivery thus ensuring no citizen is left behind in the digital revolution.”

Present at the event was the PS State Department for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui who said, “The digital transformation of the public sector is not just about adopting new technologies; it is a fundamental change in the way we serve our citizens. The Digital Transformation Public Sector Forum and Awards provides a platform for leaders to learn from each other’s experiences and foster impactful change.”

In its drive toward digital transformation, the Kenyan government has made amazing progress.

The mission of the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy is to advance digital economy, ICT innovation, and e-government, and with more than 15,000 services already digitized, the ministry is well on its way to reaching its objectives.

Managing Director of Greydale Africa,Lavinniah Muthoni Mwongera, highlighted the event’s significance.

“Greydale Africa is proud to have conceptualized the DTPS Forum and Awards. We have seen the government actively push and invest in technology to streamline its operations, improve service delivery and grow the digital economy. In doing so, there are pertinent issues that public sector leaders are dealing with.”
