Joseph Mwenda aka DJ Joe Mfalme who is in police custody together with other 3 officers will be arraigned in court on Monday over suspected killing of police detective Felix Kelian Kitosi.
According to the reports Kitosi allegedly quarreled with Mfalme after an accident involving the latter. The accident took place around Kikuyu Police Station in Kiambu County which occasioned the altercation.
According to Mfalme himself and crew are co-operating with police to unravel the truth.
“We express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those impacted by this unfortunate incident. DJ Joe Mfalme and his team have been in close collaboration with the investigative agencies since the occurrence of the incident,” read the statement in part.
“Given the ongoing investigations and the sensitive nature of the matter, we shall refrain from making any further statements at this time,” the deejay, who is presently detained at the Kabete Police Station,” he added.
High Court advocate Dicky Osala has however, stated that it would be too early to pass any assertion on the matter.
“It is too early to speculate on that matter and a lot of caution is needed so that you don’t jeopardize both the court process and the investigation…at this point police will look where they were, what happened and the statements of the accused persons and whether the same co-relate. It is important that the police look all the nitty gritty. But the moment the case it at epic and much caution is needed,’’ High Court advocate Osala said.
Club Texas statement
Meanwhile the management of Club Texas Barbecue has distanced itself from the incident saying it happened far away not with the club’s precincts.
Earlier it was alleged that the altercations between the popular deejay and the deceased happened at the club.
‘‘I can assure you that the incident never happened at the club. Just follow the matter closely and you will know the truth. If it had happened here, we would have resolved the issue,” The manager told the media.
