DMX Placed On Life Support For Drug Overdose

Veteran American rapper Earl Simmons commonly known as DMX has been hospitalized and placed on life support at a hospital in White plains, New York.

The news was conveyed by the rapper’s longtime attorney Murray Richman.

The ‘Lord Gimme A Sign’ hit maker suffered a heart attack on Friday around midnight at his home in White Plains and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance where he remains on a ventilator.

The cause of the heart attack still remains scanty.

His attorney Richman said that he has known DMX for over 25 years and has been in touch with his family all day.

He further stated that he is aware of the rapper’s prognosis but declined to give out more information.

The 50 year old debuted on the rap scene in the late 1990s with his first five albums maintaining the number one spot on the billboard charts.

He’s also an accomplished actor who has featured in multiple blockbuster movies.

In recent past the rapper has battled drug addiction, he checked into a rehabilitation facility in 2017 and 2019 in his efforts to clean up from cocaine addiction.

He has also served jail time for tax fraud.Since news of his condition broke out, the hip hop fraternity have come out to show their support hoping that he will pull through.

They include T. I, Tyrese Gibson,Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross just to mention but a few.
