Drake,The Weeknd Win Big At Billboard Music Awards


The Billboard Music Awards 2021, lived up to its billing with renowned artists winning big at the ceremony.

Leading the pack was Drake who walked away with the most coveted prize, the rapper grabbed the Artist Of The Decade Award.

He was presented with the award while holding his three year old son, Adonis.

Drake currently has the most awards from the entity with 29 trophies.

Though having some performances pre-recorded, the energy was still witnessed.

“I wanna dedicate this award to my friends, to my longtime collaborators… To my beautiful family and to you” uttered Drake.

The biggest winner was The Weeknd who bagged 10 awards having been earlier snubbed by the Grammys where he failed to earn a single nomination.

He walked away with top male artist, top Hot 100 song for ‘Blinding Lights’ and the top R&B album for ‘After Hours’.

He thanked his parents and fans for giving him the inspiration in his musical journey.

“I wanna take this opportunity to thank you, my parents, Iam the man I am today because of you. And thank you to my fans of course. I do not take this for granted”.

The late hip hop rising Star Pop Smoke and the legendary icon DMX were also honoured post humously.

Bad Bunny and BTS won four awards each.

Former rapper turned rock singer Machine Gun Kelly scooped the top rock artist and top rock album. Other notable Star’s such as Taylor swift, Lady Gaga and Kanye West also won honours in absentia.

Deejay Khaled also brought the house down with a performance from H.E.R and Migos.

Doja Cat and SZA also gave an electrifying performance with their mega hit ‘Kiss Me More’.
