Drama as 300 boda boda riders storm hospital abduct patient


There was drama at Kimbimbi Sub-county Hospital in Mwea after over 300 boda boda riders stormed the hospital and dragged out a suspected boda boda thief who was receiving treatment at the facility.

The riders then dragged the patient from the hospital upto about 30 kilometres away from the facility before they lynched him.

According to area senior chief Immaculate Wanjiru, the deceased had been rushed to the hospital on Thursday after he was saved by the police from an irate mob on the Mwea-Embu road. The mob lynched him over allegations he had stolen several motorbikes in the past few weeks.

He said the bikes were stashed at a hideout in Murinduko. The over the 300 riders who were eager to find the bikes went to Murinduko village to recover the bikes but were shocked to realise they had been duped.

The body of the deceased which was burnt beyond recognition was picked by police officers from the Kianyaga police station and moved to the Kerugoya Hospital Mortuary.
