There was drama on Wednesday at the Koth Biro Tournament after the tournament’s three time champions A 1000 street were disqualified from the tournament.
Drama started when an official of the A1000 Street team assaulted the match’s 1st assistant referee at the 50th minute of the game in Umeme grounds in Ziwani Estate.
The disgruntled official attacked the referee over allegations of biasness against A 1000 street despite the reigning champions leading against Eastleigh North.
For this reason Eastleigh were awarded three points and two goals thereby joining 15 teams that had already qualified for the knockout stage.
A 1000 street the reigning champions of the Koth Biro tournament has been performing dismally throughout this year’s tournament with yesterday’s match being described as a do or die match for them.
South B , Maringo Combined , Githurai Allstars , Kingstone from Shauri Moyo Estate, South C, Pumwani Allstars , Fifa Best from Dagoretti, Piuretto from Dandora, teams from Ziwani Umeme bees , Beirut and Nyoi , Borrusia and Masa from kariobangi are the teams that have qualified for the knockout.
The winner of the tournament will take hom Ksh 300,000 courtesy of betting firm Sportpesa.
One match will be played for the eight days in the knockout stage. South C will take on Maringo comnbined at 3.00 pm 13th December 2017.
