Drama As Traders Protest Allocation Of New Stalls In Embakasi West

There was drama today in Embakasi West Constituency after a section of traders protested the allocation of market stalls on the newly built KCC Market.

The traders claim that the allocation of the market stalls was not done in a fair manner.

The traders claim that some cartels had tried to extort money from them in order to be given spaces at the market.

“We are not happy with what happened here. There is a list they were using to make the allocations a list we are not sure of the source,” Cried Jackie Outa, a trader.

“We gave out our names and instead they are demanding that we give them money. What exactly is happening? She posed.

The protests saw a section of youths stone journalists who were covering the grievances of the traders.

The traders however vowed to stay put at the market until they were rightfully given their spaces.

The 4,000 modern KICC Market was a project commissioned by former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and was being constructed in partnership with the World Bank.
