There was drama at Nairobi County assembly this afternoon after MCAs tried to physically eject speaker Beatrice Elachi out of the office.
Angry MCAs broke a private door at the speaker’s office while taunting her to exit the premises.
The MCAs had attempted to have audience with Elachi but failed resorting to break a door to gain access to her office.
‘‘We don’t want her here she must leave. The courts will not save you Elachi your are not a good woman,’’ a nominated MCA Shouted.
Majority leader Abdi Guyo and his minority counterpart Elias Otieno says they will not allow Ealchi to impose herself on members.
‘‘We were very clear on Thursday members overwhelming voted her out and she should not impose herself here, let her meet us in court.’’ Guyo said.
Elachi managed to exit the premises unharmed through the intervention of central OCPD Robinson Thuku Elachi who escorted her out of the building after the two and half hour scuffle.
Elachi was impeached last week on Thursday after 103 MCAs voted against her. She was however reinstated by the courts just hours after the MCAs verdict.
Justice Maureen Onyango certified the matter as urgent and issued a conservatory order stopping the assembly and its service board from removing Ms Elachi from office or appointing a new nominee until all the parties are heard
The MCAs accused the speaker of abuse of office and sabotage of assembly operations.
