Eight bars shut in Mathare and Huruma

The National Campaign Against Drugs Authority has shut down eight bars in selling counterfeit alcohol in Mathare and Huruma.

The bar were shut down following a Monday crackdown conducted in Mathare and Huruma

NACADA in conjuction with a special force tasked with implementing  the crackdown on counterfeit alcohol and illicit brews also arrested eight people among them five men and three women.

Patrick Mwangi Deputy County Commissioner Mathare say the crackdown in Mathare saw a raid in at least 10 bars in Mathare and a string of chang’aa dens.

The National government gave local authorities and county commissioners and deputy commissioners 100 days to completely eradicate illicit brews.
