Chief Justice Martha Koome is one on the eminent persons whose homes have been submerged by floods,Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi has revealed.
In an exclusive interview with media houses,the MP stated that she reached out to the CJ after receiving distressed call from a resident of Runda Estate for rescue.
“When I called the CJ Martha Koome she told me that she is also an ID,she had to relocate because of floods, the whole area is affected and I believeit is the very water tat is affecting the Mathare areas” Mp Beatrice Elachi stated.
Elachi said that the CJ informed her that she was also affected by deluge as parts of her home was submerged.
According to the MP most roads leading to the posh Runda estate were impassable as raging floods wreak havoc.
Elachi added she had to use canoe to ferry medics to an elderly woman in need of medical care since road were impassable following a continued heavy downpour.
The MP added that current situation requires multi-sectoral approach from both national and county governments to curb situation.

She stated that the government must also work with speed to errect beacons on the river banks where structures had been destroyed by deluge and gazette it as riparian land.
