According to reports doing rounds, Mwendwa was asked to explain how the Federation spent Ksh 244 million given by the government to the National team during the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament.

The players had been promised the money as a reward for qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held last year in Egypt.

Stars captain Victor Wanyama said that FKF took sh12 million from the sh50 million awarded to players claiming to be budgetary costs.

The Fkf President was also grilled  to explain how money was spent on the outside broadcast equipment which was leased from a company that went into administration months after receiving about Sh125 million from Federation.

Speaking to Mad Goat Tv Wanyama said that they were in formed that part of the money the Federation took was to be  used for administrative purpose.

Efforts to reach  FKF CEO Barry Otieno  for comment on the same have been fruitless.
