Assembly is now heading for another battle as power struggles between speaker Beatrice Elachi and embattled Clerk Jacob Ngwele continue.
Today Ngwele stormed the assembly with a group of MCAs with a court order that affirms his reinstatement .
In his briefing with the media Ngwele accused Elachi of trying to block him from accessing his office.
‘‘I have been working from outside including signing of the salaries… I have a court order reinstating me as the Clerk and i have also been cleared by the EACC.’’ Ngwele said.
Meanwhile Elachi insists that Ngwele is no longer the clerk and they did an interview for the same post after it was declared vacant by assembly public service board.
“Edward Gichana emerged position 1 with 79.1. Gad Awuonda position 2 with 69.1 They were followed by Sammy Kiptoo, Ngige Gitau, Mbugua Kabiro Crispin, Joseph Lemakulol and Ibrahim Ali ,” she said.
The two have been embroiled in a protracted war since 2018.
Waithaka MCA Antony Kiragu however, asked Elachi to stop murky politics and allow Ngwele back as ordered by the court.
