England Star Dele Alli assaulted by knife-wielding thugs

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was attacked by two knifemen who robbed his home in the early hours of Wednesday before making off with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of valuables.

The England midfielder, 24, was set upon by the duo after they threatened him and his model girlfriend Ruby Mae.

It’s understood the £100,000-a-week footballer and his adopted brother Harry Hickford, 24, were both attacked by the duo.

Alli suffered facial injuries and Harry was also hurt. The footballer released a short statement on Wednesday night.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “Thank you for all the messages. Horrible experience but we’re all okay now. Appreciate the support.”

“They took a load of jewellery and watches which are extremely valuable.

“Dele was assaulted, he was punched in the face as he tried to put up a fight with the men and a struggle ensued.

“Harry got involved and was also injured.”

But they could not prevent the pair getting away with watches and jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Dele, Ruby Mae, Harry, and Harry’s girlfriend have been sharing the property during lockdown along with a fifth person who is a friend of the group.

All five were believed to be present at the time of the incident.

Scotland Yard detectives arrived in Barnet, north London following the report of the raid at 12.35am.

A neighbour told the Mirror: “The police arrived in the early hours of the morning, there were two or three vehicles outside.

“We heard that Dele had been punched in the face and was quite badly hurt in the struggle.

“The robbers got away with jewellery and one of the watches was meant to be worth £850,000.
