Eric Omondi has kicked off a funds-drive to resettle Mai-Mahiu flood victims. The comedian is seeking to buy land away from the disaster hit area to a more safer ground.
According to the funny man, the Mai-Mahiu disaster has left a trail of destruction from death, homes being swept away to some victims ending up with broken arms and legs.
Eric has revealed that the piece of land to be bought will be within Mai-Mahiu in order to resettle all the homeless families.

He went ahead and called on Kenyans of goodwill to come together and make the dream come to fruition.
“As Team ‘Sisi Kwa Sisi’ we’re going to buy land hapa to Mai-Mahiu we’re going to settle everybody who is homeless, in a place where there is no floods, there is no risks so I’m calling upon every Kenyan of goodwill tushikane, tujengane, tusaidiane, tuokoleane, tuinuane. We will not allow these families to come back here in the line of death, in the line of danger” he asserted partly.

Faults Government
Earlier, Eric faulted the government for its laxity in response disaster management.
The comedian turned activist affirmed that the government was doing less when it has the capacity to help its subjects.
He further shared his disappointment noting that the government normally has allocations for disaster management which end up being embezzled.
Eric was not just speaking from afar, he was in the affected area trying to salvage what’s possible.

The site itself was worrying with dozens of shoes and household items scattered all over.
Desperation and grief was written in the faces of the victims who could be seen sharing their ordeal with the comedian.
