Comedian cum activist Erick Omondi has been sentenced to on month in prison.
The sentenced came after he made a U-turn to plead guilty if the offence he had earlier denied of illegally holding assembly at parliament building.
According to the prosecution , Omondi, in the company of 17 men who appeared in court, formed a group at the entrance of the national assembly shouted to seek the audience of the speaker of National Assembly Moses Wetengula.
The prosecution added that during the arrested the funnyman became violent before the police joined force and arrested them
The investigations revealed that Erick and his co-accused had not sought the legal permission to hold an assembly.
According to the trial magistrate Lucas Onyina,the accused person Erick thirst for limelight has been quench following the battery of bloggers that had thronged the court the first time the accused persons
were arraigned.
In alternative the funnyman was directed to pay a fine of ksh 10000 to secure non custodial sentence.
