Former Chelsea and Cameroon midfielder, Geremi Njitap has filed for divorce from his wife, Laure Fotso after DNA tests showed his two children were fathered by her ex.

Filing For Divorce

Geremi decided to file for a divorce after a DNA test revealed that his children’s biological father was actually his wife’s ex-husband. Geremi’s wife, Laure, had supposedly had an affair with her former spouse while she was with him. Until the DNA test, the former footballer believed the twin children to be his.

Court Documents
The court documents detail, as reported by The Sun : “No children have been born from this union [between Geremi and Laure].
She claimed the twins born in June 2008 — four years before the couple’s marriage — were his, which motivated them to get married.
“But the discovery that the children were from her previous partner destroyed the couple’s harmony.
“It caused him a huge emotional shock.”
Geremi Njitap Emotional Destruction
Geremi said that his wife has “psychologically damaged him” with the revelation causing “a huge emotional shock.” He described the revelation, which came following a paternity test, as a “serious and renewed violation of the duties and obligations of marriage.”

Geremi Sorele Njitap Fotso, known simply as Geremi, is a Cameroonian former footballer.
He was a versatile player able to play at right back, right midfield or defensive midfielder, known for his power, pace, combative style and free-kick ability
Geremi made 109 Chelsea appearances between 2003 and 2007, scoring four goals.
He played for Real Madrid between 1999 and 2003.
He was part of the Cameroon team that recorded consecutive AFCON triumohs in 2000 and 2002.
