Ex-Governor Waititu refuses to pay his son’s Ksh. 30,000 court fine

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu’s son Bernard Ndung’u yesterday caused a buzz online after a video of showing him begging for money emerged online.

Ndung’u was calling friends asking for assistance to pay for the Ksh. 30,000 fine the court had slapped him with.

His father the former governor had apparently refused to help him with the situation.

“My father has said I serve the jail sentence. But I do not take it against him because he has warned me many times to stay away from alcohol, so let me take my own cross,” he was heard saying on phone.

He had been arrested and charged with drunk-driving at the Milimani Law Courts.

The lad pleaded guilty and was fined Ksh. 30,000 or serve a three-month jail term.
