Education CS Fred Matiangi has assured candidates that examinations will proceed as planned despite calls by opposition to change poll date.

Speaking after meeting with Education stakeholders at the Kenya Institute of curriculum development KICD, this morning Matiangi said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission IEBC has yet to tell them of another date from October 17th which is slated for the polls.

On his part KNUT secretary general Wilson Sossion and ODM Nominated MP has insisted that as a union they will not allow exam dates to be altered and politicized saying children welfare should come first.

Schools reopened for third term on august 28 and will close by October 29 in order to allow for the start of the national examinations.
