Fallen comedian Ben Maurice Onyango has been laid to rest at his rural home in Ndere-Alego, Siaya county.
The comedian who succumbed to brain tumor on the 11th of October was laid to rest on Saturday in a service attended by family, colleagues and friends.
His family bid him farewell in a moving tribute poem that urged fans to celebrate him even in the after life.
“His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
He is Gone (Remember Me)” the poem read in part
The funeral in Alego was attended by the likes of comedian Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki, Mc Jessy, Jalang’o, Sandra Dacha, Teacher Wanjiku, Wakimani, Captain Otoyo among others.
