A family in Nairobi’s Buruburu area is appealing for justice after their kin was killed in a road accident by an over speeding Double M Bus.
Derrick Arunga says that his cousin Derrick Ochieng was hit by the Double M bus on Friday around Oyster area.
According to Arunga, the driver of the bus attempted to escape the accident scene but was arrested by angry wananchi, frog matched to the police station but later released.
“The bus is currently ate the police station, the driver was also arrested but was released,” says Arunga.
“Angry youth however followed him after he reportedly revisited the accident scene to know the whereabouts of the victim. They then frog matched him to the police station and handed him over to an OCS who arrested but was later released,” says Arunga.
He says that his cousin succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the accident. An autopsy result says that he died of head injuries from the accident.
“The autopsy result revealed that he broke his waist and also suffered some head injuries from the accident impact,” he stated.
His body is currently lying at the Umash Funeral Home.
