As the Globe marks the International Women’s day, one woman in particular is not enthusiastic about this day as all she wants is to help her ailing daughter.

Miswaleh Mlalanzi’s eight year old daughter, Haimanah Wairimu was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in 2018 and life has not been the same for the family.

The distraught mother who can barely afford medical bills for her daughter has now been left with no option but to seek help from well wishers which has also not been fruitful.

The eight year old was diagnosed in June last year and she was moved around different hospitals seeking treatment before she was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital  where she was admitted for six months.

The mother was forced to take her daughter home after doctors at Kenyatta told her they are not in a position to help because the cancer had already reached stage four something doctors from Indian whom she consulted strongly refuted maintaining that the cancer is still at stage two.

Since then, Miswaleh has been moving around Nairobi seeking funds to help her take her daughter to India for treatment.

“I am hopeful she will get treatment, if only I can raise the money for it. I know my child’s cancer is treatable and according to a consulting doctor from India it’s still stage two ”said the mother.

The eight year old is currently home using an oxygen concentrator to breath as her lungs have been damaged by the disease.

The mother says she needs a total medical expense of Kes.5 million including treatment and transport to India. She has appealed for well wishers to send their contribution to Paybill number 678722 Account name WAIRIMU.
