A family in Kwale is seeking justice after their kin was beaten to death on Friday.

Khamisi Juma Bega 49, had allegedly left home after the curfew began to take an expectant client to the hospital.

The boda boda operator is said to have encountered law enforcement officers at Ujamaa stage on the Mombasa-Lungalunga highway on his way home from the hospital and that is when he was beaten.

Owing to the curfew, Khamisi was not taken to the hospital till the next morning.

He succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.

Police in Matuga have however denied the claims even as Matuga sub-county police commander Francis Mguli said they would investigate.

The body has since been taken to Coast General mortuary for postmortem.
