Family Of Man Mauled By Company Dogs On Mombasa Road Cries For Justice

The family of a night guard who was mauled to death by dogs while at work is appealing for justice over the death of their kin.

Jonathan Lelenguya was killed by dogs belonging to a company that neighbour’s the company he is working for.

Lelenguyan’s brother Letoris Lelenguyan says that they have not yet heard any arrests or actions taken by the police following the death of their brother.

“My brother died a very painful death. He was attacked by dogs when he was at work. The dogs devoured pieces of flesh from his entire body including hands and and even the throat,” said Letoris.

A postmortem conducted by the government pathologist indicates that Lelenguyan died of bleeding caused by multiple severed blood vessels after animal maulage.

Fredrick Odhiambo a human rights activist from Haki Africa has accused the police of trying to frustrate the case by threatening the family.

“It is unfortunate that the police are frustrating the case and are trying so hard to kill it. We know they are threatening family members and blocking them from seeking answers,” said Odhiambo.

Odhiambo says that they are planning to write to Independent Policing Oversight Authority to investigate the unfortunate behavior of the officers handling the case.

Meanwhile Haki Africa has promised to hire lawyers for the family to help them seek justice on their kin’s death.
