Family Of Murdered Ziwani Man Promise To Revenge Son’s Death
The family of the man who was murdered in Ziwani over campaign money has vowed to avenge the death of their loved one.
Sharon Akoth the deceased’s cousin says the death of 25 year old Maurice Omondi has affected the family in a big way and that they are planning to seek justice once he is buried.
“The family transported the body of the deceased to Kisumu because the mother of the young man is old and weak and cannot travel to Nairobi. But they have vowed to come back after burial and ensure that their son gets justice,” said Akoth.
The family said this amid anger and fury in Ziwani after the perpetrators of the act are said to have gone into exile to evade arrest.
Police are yet to make any arrests as the witnesses of the mob incident have refused to record statement over fear of intimidation and harassment.
“Names have been mentioned. The person who started it all is known by residents here in Ziwani, problem is people are afraid of coming out for fear of intimidation ,” said the deceased’s wife.
Maurice Omondi died on Saturday after a mob beat him up over campaign money that had been dished out by Musician Jaguar.
