Family’s agony as kin declines new house
By Jacob Oluoch
A family in Maseno Kisumu County now fears for the security of its kin living in a dilapidated house.
Douglas Muyanje’s family says that their several attempts to build their kin a new house have been futile.
Muyanje’s daughter in law told Ghetto Radio News that they now fear that the old dilapidated house may one day crumble and fall on the 63 year old man and kill him.
The lady who opted not to give her name says that any attempt to discuss a new house with Muyanje is met by him mentioning his estranged wife who left him several years ago.
“His wife left him a long time ago. I also did not find her here,” she said.
Muyanje however says he does not need anybody’s effort to build a house and is already making bricks for his new house.
“I don’t need a need someone to built a house for me. I am planning to build it on myself,” he said.
His current mud house is on the brink crumbling down and has polythene bags as covers for the roof.
“He is a person who lives from hand to mouth jobs, and whenever he fails, he asks for help. Our worry is when will build a house?, said the daughter in- law.
