The Building Bridges report received by president Uhuru Kenyatta today is proposing that some key functions be taken from Nairobi County.
The report presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga however recommends that all the 47 counties remain intact.
According to the report, the person running for Nairobi County Governorship should not have a running mate but appoint a deputy after winning the elections.
The suggestion to preserve the county seems to have been a sigh of relief for some MCAs who have been jittery over the date of the county.
Ther report has also recommended that the ward development fund being managed by the MCAs be brought back.
If passed all the 47 counties will be allocated a minimum of 35 percent of the National Revenue.
