Kenyan sprinter made History in the Diamond League 100 miters on Friday at the Monaco Diamond League on (21 July).
Omanyala clocked 9.93 to become the first Kenyan to win the Diamond League 100m ahead of Letsile Tebogo 9.93 for the man from Botswana.
Ackeem Blake was third in 10.00 ahead of his fellow Jamaican and 2011 world champion Yohan Blake.
The victory ensured Omanyala’s qualification for September’s Diamond League Final in Eugene.
The Commonwealth Champion was the outright favourite to win in Monaco after his fellow heavy hitters like Akani Simbine withdrew.
Omanyala had taken place in three diamond league races in Rabat Morocco, Florence Italy and Paris.
In Rabat Kerley won the race in 9.99 and Omanyala finished third 10.05 on May 28th.
On June 2nd in Italy Omanyala finished second behind Fred Kerley an improvement in previous race.
