Fire razes down Property Worth Hundreds Of Thousands In Gikomba Market


Fire has razed down property worth hundreds of thousands in Nairobi’s Gikomba Market.

A trader who spoke to Ghetto Radio News says that the fire started at around 12:40 am and burnt down stores that had goods.

The area affected in the midnight inferno is the Family Bank and Mololine area that has stores.

“The fire started at around 12:40 from the Royal, Mololine and Family Bank area and burnt all goods in the stores,” said the trader.

According to the trader, no one was able to salvage anything from the fire.

“The fire was so big that no one was able to save anything from the stores,” she stated.


Fire fighters from Nairobi Metropolitan Services reportedly arrived last after the fire had spread and burnt down everything.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

The incident has caused a blackout in the entire Gikomba and Kariokor area.
